For those of you who are familiar with Texas musician Jimmie Dale Gilmore, you know the “Deep Eddy Blues,” a song inspired by Austin’s own Deep Eddy Pool, the historic, man-made and oldest swimming pool in Texas.

Come August 14, be ready to “pool” your resources for the 9th Annual Deep Eddy Mile, a 1766 2/3 yard swim. This organized race is organized in heats so that each swimmer gets his own lane and the swimmer in each age/gender group who achieves the fastest recorded time wins an opportunity to establish an A.S.A certified Deep Eddy record.
