A fiery battle of wit and rhyme? Sounds like a guaranteed grand slam!

Witness the city’s best poets represent their home venues, Austin Poetry Slam ND and Austin Neo-Soul, bust some sonnets, and showcase their rhymes in the Battle of the Slams! Audience members are not only invited to help decide who receives the title of Cross-City Champion but also participate in a silent auction with items from local businesses. Stay tuned after the slam for a DJ dance party featuring live music from crowd favorite, Monkey.

All proceeds will go to benefit the Austin Poetry Slam and Austin Neo Soul teams in their journey to the National Poetry Slam 2010 in St. Paul, MN. Tickets are $8 in advance and $12 at the door. For more information, click here.
