It’s finally here!  Time to satisfy your senses with some of Austin’s most delectable cuisine!  FLAVORS of Austin starts September 28 at Frank, where the dogs are hot and the drinks are cold.

Frank will showcase a flight of mini hot dogs and famous artisan sausages so participants can sample an assortment of different goodies from the menu.  This succulent sausage spread will only set you back $12 and you can even add a couple glasses of wine for a little extra!  Frank always has great drink specials along with their own house-made bacon-infused liquors.  Yes, please!  For all you vegetarians out there, Frank has a veggie-only menu as well.

FLAVORS of Austin is a weekly event which will feature a different restaurant each week with a special multi-course menu at a discounted price.  This will be an opportunity to taste the most unique and delicious fare in Austin at places you may not usually go to and with prices you definitely won’t usually get!

Head out to Frank for the sweetest sausage in town and support the local economy September 28 through the 30th.  You can check out the FLAVORS website  for more details and more reasons to get in on the action!  Our mouths are watering already!

Who says you can’t have a cocktail and learn a little something at the same time?  Kappie Bliss, owner of the ultra-chic 2nd Street Boutique, Beyond Tradition is hosting a “How-To” Happy Hour on Wednesday, September 23.  Sip on a cocktail while learning different ways to wear all the trendiest accessories.

The party will feature local jewelry designer Tracy Tenpenny, showing guests how to create different looks with jewelry by layering.  My-Cherie Haley, creator of local scarf line Shimmer and Bliss, will be there teaching spectators how to wear a scarf and achieve unique looks.  The demonstrations will also be hosted by Rachel Elsberry of Pickie Pie Productions.  All three ladies are well-established in the fashion industry not only in Austin, but all over the country and they strive to make Austin a hip and trendy mecca.  Also lighting up the room will be models displaying different styles from both Beyond Tradition and fellow 2nd Street boutique, Estilo

Knock back a drink and enjoy delicious fare from Cuba Libre.  The event kicks off at 6 p.m. and the demonstrations begin at 7.  Don’t miss out on this exclusive event or else you’ll be in trouble the next time your outfit needs a boost!

Also, just up the street, if you’re a bride or bride-to-be, don’t forget to check out Eliza Page. Grab a Tito’s cocktail or glass of champagne while perusing Shaesby’s Bridal rings line as well as Linda Asaf’s bridal fashions. Also 6:00 – 9:00 — plenty of time to hit both boutiques.

We’re announcing Launch787 events left and right aren’t we? Last week we turned our attention to FLAVORS of Austin (stay tuned). This week, it’s Shop787.

What is Shop787? The biggest recommendation we got after Austin Fashion Week was to see if we could create an event that put as many local designers and boutiques in one spot as possible to give you guys the chance to check out all their fantastic stuff side-by-side. Enter Shop787.

On Sunday, November 8, 2009, we’re taking over Mosaic at Mueller, one of the most stunning new residential developments we’ve seen. The space will be transformed for an early holiday shopping event featuring over 50 of your favorite local boutiques, designers and artists. In typical Launch787 fashion, we’ll have food, bars and entertainment as well.

What’s the other goal? To support local business after a challenging summer for retailers. We’re hoping that by giving you a chance to do your holiday shopping a little early at Shop787 that it’ll keep you from making last-minute purchases at the most convenient mall location. So, head out and support those retailers and designers that we all care so much about!

To top it all off, we’re supporting two amazing non-profit organizations located in the Mueller development: Dell Children’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald House. Normally, just a portion of the ticket sale price would go to these wonderful charities, BUT we’re going to do something super-cool…

Use the button below to purchase your ticket now. First, this is a discount ($5 instead of $10 at the door). Second, if you use that link and purchase by Monday, September 21 (that’s just a week away!), we’ll donate 100% of the money to the non-profits. So, you’re basically making a $5 donation and you still get to come to Shop787!

One night, one location, tons of Austin artists, musicians, fashion designers and more at the We Make Stuff art, music and fashion show on Saturday, September 19.

Come exercise your creative muscle at Scoot Inn and check out the Austin locals who help make this city what it is.  Shop at one of the many local vendor booths and watch Austin clothing designers along with their Rollergirl and pin-up models strut their stuff in the fashion show.  There will be a skateboard painting contest by amazing artists as well as hip skaters from Find n’ Grind skate shop showing off their moves on the indoor half pipe.  That’s right, an indoor half pipe.

This event is taking handmade to a new level!  Custom print your own t-shirts and go handmade crazy with other DIY projects.  What event would be complete without a photo booth to help remember the night?  Photographer John Pesina will be there to document the debauchery.

Of course, the night isn’t all about great fashion, art and skateboards.  A charity raffle will be held benefitting Art From the Streets, a non-profit organization assisting homeless artists.

The party kicks off at 7pm and there are goodies to be had for early birds.  Come on, with art, skateboarding, fashion and models…why wouldn’t you want to be there?
