filmfoodFilm lovers gather ‘round!  To kick-off the 2009 Austin Film Festival and Conference, the non-profit organization presents the 7th Annual Film and Food on Wednesday, October 21.  This one night event at the Driskill Hotel will feature cocktails and superb fare from Austin’s finest eateries.  Guests can also participate in silent and live auctions containing items to excite your inner film fanatic.

Local favorites like Carmelo’s, Eddie V’s, Polkadots Cupcake Factory, Whole Foods and many more will provide the munchies.  Basically, this event will have the best food Austin has to offer, all under one roof.

The auction items are definitely notable with a package from Lost that includes a signed script by the cast of Lost and a shirt worn by Naveen Andrews, aka Sayid, among other things!  Also on the list are gift certificates to hotels and restaurants, vacation packages, a private room at the Alamo Drafthouse and tons more items that are certainly worth a look.

Of course it’s for a good cause!  All proceeds benefit the Austin Film Festival’s Young Filmmakers Program, encouraging students to get creative and improving literacy through screenwriting and filmmaking.  Tickets are $85 or $70 for AFF members and the party starts at 7pm.  Tickets can be ordered on the AFF Film and Food website.

Help celebrate two of Austin’s favorite pastimes, movies and food, at the 7th Annual Film and Food presented by the Austin Film Festival.  And of course, don’t forget to attend the 2009 Film Festival and Conference.
