Congress Stroll Vendor Information

iCal Import
Start:
January 1, 1970 12:00 am

If you have reached this page, you are a vendor at the retail space as part of the Congress Avenue Stroll on Saturday, December 5, 2009. If you have reached this page in error, please follow a different Launch787 link.

If you are in fact a vendor, please keep reading:

  • The Event is located at 912 Congress Avenue next to Authenticity Gallery. It is an empty retail shell. We will have a Shop787 banner on the door to indicate you are in the right place.
  • There is NO rain plan. 912 Congress is a 100% indoor venue, so the event is rain or shine.

The list below comprises all of the vendors at this event just for your information. We are asking you to LOAD-IN at 2:30 to be ready for the first customers at 5:00. PLEASE come on time for load-in. Do not come early as we won’t be able to accommodate you easily.

Here is the vendor list:

Meline Collection

Micah Yancey Jewelry

Jenny N. Design

Esther Design

Gypsies Antiques

Ana Brasil

Ax + Apple

Lovely Austin Boutique

Storyville Boutique

PLEASE NOTE: You are more than welcome to set up your vendor space and leave, BUT we will have dozens of people in and out of the building. While our assumption is that your items would be secure, we take no liability for anything that may get stolen while you are away from your vendor booth.

Your Space:

Your vendor booth spaces are 8-foot of “storefront” x 6-foot deep. We are not guaranteeing any specific space at this point to anyone but we will do our best to accommodate requests as load in occurs.

There will be walls at the back of your booth. They are concrete and you may hang stuff on them using tape, but you will not be able to put any holes in them. Please be courteous to our venue.

The entire space is fairly small, therefore no one space is better than another. Please do not ask us where your space will be. We will determine that with the venue. Please do not ask us to change your location on the day of the event.

Equipment/Tables/Power:

As stated in prior information, no rentals are available for this event. You are responsible for bringing your own tables, linens, lamps, etc.

POWER will be available. There are two long strands of lights in the space, but the venue is still a little bit dark (particularly for something like jewelry). Please bring your own floor/table lamps. Please also bring extension cords and power strips. We will drop power strips in certain areas to make the length to run power shorter, but it will help if you bring your own to ease on moving the drops around.

Unloading / Loading / Parking:

This is tricky. We do expect that there will be a few metered spaces available directly in front of the space that can be used for load-in. If you get one of those spaces, please drop your stuff and let another vendor have that space. We will be available to help you unload all of your stuff and get it into the building. In the event that those spaces are taken, we’ll have to deal with unloading everyone on the fly. There is a very small back alley that leads directly to the venue’s back door. That will be available in a pinch. Once you are at the venue for the duration, there should be plenty of street parking within a short walk. It’s a Saturday, so the meters will be turned off.

Before you unload, please find Matt Swinney or another Launch787 representative to let you know where your booth space will be.

You MUST be ready to sell product at 5:00 pm sharp.

Load-out will begin when the crowd dies down. We expect this to happen sometime between 9:00 pm and 10:00 pm, but we’ll play it by ear. If you guys are still selling, then we’ll keep the doors open as long as you want. It’s a relatively small number of vendors, so we can all work together to ensure the best success.

Load-out will also be tricky. Potentially trickier than load-in. We expect that parking directly in front of the venue will be difficult at this point, so utilizing the back alley will likely be necessary. Please be patient in loading out. We’ll get everyone out of there as quickly as possible.

Other Information:

We will have music being played through an ipod dock to help set the mood.

Wireless Internet access IS NOT available. The free city wifi is on in that area, but it’s spotty. There are times is works great and times that it does not. Please have a manual backup plan to run credit cards in the event you can’t get into an online credit card processor. We have been told that mobile phone service is reliable inside the venue. Hard wire phone lines are not available.

Marketing:

Launch787 is not in charge of the marketing for the Congress Avenue Stroll. We are helping to facilitate it, but this vendor retail space is just one part of a much larger event. There will be tons of things happening around the retail space all evening long. We will certainly do our best to attract a crowd, but the Downtown Austin Alliance is ultimately responsible for getting the word out that this event exists.

Now that you have read all of this information, we ask that you email us here to confirm that you’ve read all of this and agree to everything we’ve laid out (or ask us any questions).
